Miso Mayo Dip with Vegetable Sticks

A popular and healthy Japanese snack you can even find at convenience stores in Japan!
This simple dish features crisp vegetable sticks served with a creamy miso mayo dip. You can enjoy it using your favorite vegetables.
It’s quick, refreshing, and perfect as a light appetizer or healthy snack.
- 1 carrot
- 1 cucumber
- 1/4 daikon radish (or substitute with white radish or turnip)
- 1 tbsp miso (white or mixed)
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- A pinch of ichimi togarashi (Japanese chili powder), optional
Instructions
1. Cut the vegetables
Cut the carrot, daikon, and cucumber into easy-to-eat sticks.

2. Crisp the vegetables
Soak the vegetable sticks in ice water for a few minutes.
This makes them extra crisp and refreshing.

3. Make the dip
In a small bowl, combine all the dip ingredients and mix well until smooth.

4. Serve
Arrange the vegetables on a plate and serve with the miso mayo dip.

Use fresh vegetables that are suitable for eating raw.
After cutting and soaking them in water, drain well and keep them in the refrigerator to make them even crisper.
Adjust the amount of sugar and soy sauce to taste according to your preference.
